This is Mom Life

Mothers.

We are all so similar but unique in every way.

Sharing the perspective of Motherhood is something that needs to be done more often. So, we’re helping move that needle because no Mother should feel alone on this beautiful journey.

We connected with a couple Moms to share their perspective on #MomLife

Here are their answers…

What’s your favorite part of being a mother?
As I think about this, I would have to say, is I don’t have one, because every day and everything I do as a mother is priceless! When making amazing memories with your little people, every day and every moment is special!

What’s a daily struggle you have and how do you overcome it?
I have realized that time seems to be the issue for some of us. How I overcame this issue, is by using a daily planner and calendar to do this, it has helped me organize my life and help keep me on track! It has been a lifesaver and yes if I don’t finish what is written down that day. I always remind myself that tomorrow is another day with more time!

What is your #1 stress reliever?
prayer, meditation & exercise. In that order (except on Wednesdays and Sunday’s, no exercise).

If you could have one superpower what would it be?
Magic like bewitch, I could wiggle my nose and boom shit gets done! Haha

Do you believe physical and mental are stepping stones to happiness?
I think happiness comes in a form of spiritually! I believe it comes from deep within our souls. It goes beyond mental and physical health. We have to be spiritually happy to be happy!

What inspires you?
God, family and my sassy mom fitness members!

What’s your favorite part of being a mother?
My favorite part about being a mom is the incredible amount of unconditional love we have for each other. Just as much love and nurturing I give them it is given back to me 10 fold. No matter what kind of day we have had at the end of the day they know I love them and they love me. They are literally my favorite people to be with!

What’s a daily struggle you have and how do you overcome it?
Trying to do all the things! Being a working mom and a mom of 5 the mom guilt runs DEEEP and Social Media makes it worse! There is NO WAY I can be at all the meetings, games, parties, and dances. My older kids and I have the BEST open communication and they understand if I miss something and why, and are so incredibly sweet about it. Talking about it makes everyone feel better, but it STILL HURTS!

What is your #1 stress reliever?
MUSIC! We LOVE to dance! The music can definitely change all our moods around even if we are in the kitchen cooking dinner, in the car, or just in the Living Room doing nothing. Music is the BEST medicine!

If you could have one superpower what would it be?
Power of Protection. Nothing hurts your mama heart more than to see your babies hurt and be hurt! “I wouldn’t change my Children for the World, but I’d change the World for My Children!” Not my quote but it’s incredibly True! I just want to be able to protect them from the World!

Do you believe physical and mental health are stepping stones to happiness?
Gosh absolutely!! Physical and mental health are definitely tools for happiness. I feel like the more you focus on your physical and mental health the more confident you become. Physical and mental health are stepping stones to get you where you want to go in life. We all know complete happiness is impossible, but physical and mental health sure does get you close.

What inspires you?
My babies inspire me, my husband inspires me, my friends inspire me, my coworkers inspire me, my clients inspire me. The woman I was, I am, and the woman I will be. The woman I want my girls to be and the woman I want my boys to marry. The single mom. The stay at home mom. The working mom. The mom who lost her baby. The woman yearning to carry a baby. The woman praying for her hospitalized baby. The woman struggling in her marriage. The woman who lost her husband. The Warrior Woman in my Birth Center Group. My tribe of moms advocating for our babies with Down Syndrome or different disabilities. The woman who gives to her children when she has nothing else to give! The strength of Woman lifting others and Moms Inspire me. Knowing that most days we do this because we have to… But we love to, and most days not getting anything in return, but wake up and do it all over again.

What’s your favorite part of being a Mother?
Getting to teach my little one. I love seeing her learn and grow. It’s truly incredible!

What’s a daily struggle you have and how do you overcome it?
Exhaustion. I try to get as much sleep as I can but I work A LOT. Drinking lots of water and sneaking in power naps when I can definitely help!

What is your #1 stress reliever?
Spending time with my husband. Just talking and getting my mind of off things relieve my stress. Also, a nice hot bath doesn’t hurt 😉

If you could have one superpower what would it be?
Teleportation! If I could just travel anywhere with a snap of my fingers that’d be amazing!

Do you believe physical and mental health are stepping stones to happiness?
Absolutely! If your mind and body are both nourished, it’s hard not to be happy!

What inspires you?
Strong women inspire me. Big successful #bossbabes and also friends and family.
