We don’t need to be perfect

 

When it comes to dieting and forming healthy habits, we all strive for success and want results.

It’s up to us to make those positive changes in our lives and we hold the key to our own success. However, we all too often forget that we are human. A common mistake people make during the dieting process is expecting perfection, which in the end only sets them up for disappointment. Trying to achieve perfect results is impossible because there is no such thing as perfection. Therefore, you’ll fail every time trying to achieve it and that will bring your confidence and motivation down.

The real goal we should have for ourselves is personal growth.

The key word in that is the word personal. It’s dangerous to compare ourselves to others because we all have our unique battles. Our backgrounds, experiences, body types, schedules, diet, and many other factors come into play, and all differ from person to person. Instead of comparing yourself to others, pull inspiration from others. If you notice someone else being successful with their diet and fitness, use that as motivation and a positive encouragement for your own life.

Another thing to remember is that failure is a part of the process, and as long as you get back up and learn from it, that’s what matters. Your dieting and healthy lifestyle is a continuous journey that will have its ups and downs, and that’s okay. In the end, keeping a positive perspective and outlook on yourself and your diet will improve your confidence and remove all the negative thoughts you may have about yourself. Be patient and kind to yourself, because at the end of the day we are all human.
